GRID-Arendal Privacy Policy
This Policy outlines how GRID-Arendal processes personal data. It describes how GRID-Arendal collects, stores, uses, shares and protects personal data and what rights data subjects have concerning their data. It provides a framework for ensuring that data is handled, stored, transmitted, and accessed in a way that maintains its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The main goal is to prevent unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of data while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Miljøfyrtårn (Eco-Lighthouse certification) GRID-Arendal chooses Miljøfyrtårn certification for enhanced environmental responsibility. Since 2009, GRID-Arendal has been Miljøfyrtårn certified, a strategic move to enhance our environmental sustainability efforts. Originating in 2003, Miljøfyrtårn is a foundation providing a robust and trusted framework for environmental management. All certified companies undergo recertification every three years through an independent third-party review, ensuring ongoing consumer compliance and reliability. This process underscores a company’s systematic approach to environmental management within its industry. Miljøfyrtårn certification requires organisations to meet criteria that promote positive environmental impacts. These criteria address how a business's operations, products, and services affect climate, environment, and workplace conditions. Emphasising direct and indirect impacts through the value chain, the certification covers themes common to many industries, such as waste and reuse, energy, procurement, transport, biodiversity and land use, workplace environment, and governance. By choosing Miljøfyrtårn certification, GRID-Arendal demonstrates its commitment to rigorous environmental standards and continuous improvement, fostering a sustainable future through responsible business practices. |
