About Elisabeth Berglihn
Elisabeth Berglihn
Expert, Waste and Marine Litter

Growing up by the sea in Kristiansand and spending time in the Norwegian mountains, I have a passion for working towards solutions to the global environmental issues we are facing today.

My academic background is interdisciplinary driven by my curiosity to understand how environmental, social and economic issues are connected. I have studied Development studies, Economics and International Environmental studies and I did my master’s thesis on ecosystem services.

During my studies I had the opportunity to do fieldwork in Tanzania and Sri Lanka, worked part-time in UNICEF Norway and had an internship with ZERO. After graduation I worked on different projects related to climate, environment, and sustainability as a trainee in Kristiansand commune, Nye Veier and Sparebanken Sør through the trainee programme Trainee Sør.

As an Expert in the Waste and Marine Litter Programme at GRID-Arendal I am working to support the global policy development of the plastics treaty and with other projects addressing waste and plastic pollution.

I enjoy hiking, skiing, climbing, yoga and play the piano and guitar.
