Rivers as a plastic pollution pathway to the Arctic Ocean Poster
Plastic pollution in the world’s oceans has become of increasing global concern, including in the Arctic Ocean.
At GRID-Arendal, I am the Project Manager for Arctic Marine Litter and the current lead of the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Plastic Pollution. My main interest is to explore new ideas, narratives and other innovate initiatives to tackle the global challenge of plastic pollution.
I hold a master's degree from the Center for Sustainability and the Environment, University of Oslo, focusing on human-nature relationships (Social Sciences). My thesis explored gender dimensions of urban water management in Kathmandu, Nepal.
From 2017 to 2021 I worked for Engineers Without Borders Norway, managing projects within innovation and technology to reduce plastic pollution in the Global South. From 2019 to 2023 I was a board member of the Norwegian Association for International Water Studies.
