INC - Info sheets for negotiators
To increase knowledge on technical elements under the Plastics Treaty, GRID-Arendal has developed information sheets for negotiators.
Born in the shore of the Casamance river in Senegal, I am passionate by mangrove ecosystems. I’m an Environmental Geographer by training, having specialized in Wetlands Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects and Programs. I have more than 18 years experience working with African countries along the Atlantic Coast, the United Nations System, Inter-Governmental Organizations, Development Banks and Donors, International Specialized Research Institutes, International Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs), National Cooperation agencies, etc. I have managed national and regional portfolios dealing with marine and coastal environmental issues, sustainable development and international cooperation.
I joined GRID Arendal in January 2022 as a Senior Expert, Marine Governance. My role is to develop and deliver projects that are focused creating positive outcomes for the marine environment and the people who depend on it. Part of it is also to work in partnership with governments and regional agencies across the world, primarily in developing coastal states, to improve governance of coastal and marine areas with a particular focus on tools and approaches for marine and coastal conservation and sustainable development, preferably including marine spatial planning, integrated ocean management, blue economy, and international policy frameworks.
