Born and raised on a farm in eastern Norway, I made a big leap into the international development sector and have studied, lived and worked globally for nearly 15 years. I enjoy exploring new places, but also spending time outdoors at our cabin in the Norwegian mountains with my family.
Before joining GRID-Arendal, I worked for the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) posted in Kenya, Japan and Germany. I led global projects on urban water, sanitation and wastewater management, coordinated advocacy platforms on sustainable urbanization in the Asia-Pacific region and supported the organization’s management, reforms and inter-governmental processes while serving in the Executive Office.
As a Senior Expert in GRID Arendal’s Waste and Marine Litter programme, I manage projects and global policy development aimed at eliminating pollution because of inadequate waste management systems. I have a passion for processes that can help countries, especially their cities, find solutions to environmental and social challenges and achieve sustainable development.
I hold a Master of Science in Engineering from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences with a specialization in Water and Environmental Technology.
