Growing up in a small town in Western Norway, I have always been curious about the world out there, and at age 17 I was fortunate enough to be accepted to the United World College of Costa Rica where I studied with people from over 60 different nationalities.

During my time at UWCCR I developed a particular interest in sustainability and the interconnection between natural and social sciences. I also saw a great value in being able to discuss world issues, like climate change, in such an international setting where we could learn from each other and find common grounds.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in geology and geohazards from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and a MSc in climate change from the University of Copenhagen. With an interdisciplinary focus in my masters and a continued desire to work in an international environment, I was very pleased to join the GRID-Arendal team in March 2022.

As a research assistant in the Polar and climate program, my role is to support the different projects in the program including e.g. carrying out research and reference checking as well as supporting organizational and communication activities.
