Seaside Lofoten: One of Norway's premier tourist destinations. In 2008 the United Nations Environment Program expressed extreme concern for the implications of climate change on the Arctic regions. A warming Arctic climate is projected to have various dramatic consequences such as rising sea temperatures and ice melt and the consequent displacement of many species of Arctic and Antarctic Fauna. This is already seen in the appearance of shrubbery in Arctic climates and Northern movement of animals from the South.
