The Takuvik team from the University of Laval in Québec deploys an optical frame through an auger hole in Forêt Montmorency in Canada during a pre-season campaign to prepare and practice for a field exhibition to the Arctic. The frame is used for the underwater deployment of optical sensors. April 2019.
The
Nunataryuk research project aims to assess permafrost thaw along Arctic coastlines, study how it contributes to climate change, understand its impacts on indigenous communities and other people, and develop mitigation and adaptation strategies. The project brings together world-leading specialists in natural science and socio-economics and connects them with stakeholders from around the Arctic coast. Nunataryuk is an EU-funded
Horizon 2020 project coordinated by the
Alfred Wegener Institute in Potsdam, Germany.
