Erckel's Francolin (Francolinus erckelii), Big Island, Hawaii
Erckel's Francolin is one of three partridge type of birds brought as game bird to Hawaii. The species is native to Ethiopia and the Northern Sudan where their population is threatened. The birds, however, do well in Hawaii and can be found many places where it is grassy and brushy, e.g. on golf courses.
