Arctic climatic feedbacks
The Arctic region has a significant impact on the global climate, and strong feedback mechanisms exist between the Arctic and the rest of the world. In the Arctic, temperatures are rising twice as fast as the global average, leading to thawing permafrost and melting of sea ice, ice caps and glaciers.
