While political science was my first love, my work experience has channeled my interests towards environmental sustainability, climate action, and the water-food-energy nexus, amongst others.
At GRID-Arendal, I lead the
Reinforcing Fisheries´ Governance project in Guinea; our objective is, together with government, civil society and technical partners, to strengthen national policy implementation, increase transparency and use technology to reduce illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
I also lead the Capacity Development component of the
Blue Bijagós project, whose goal is to improve the management of existing Marine Protected Areas (MPA), establish two new MPAs in the archipelago thus creating a connectivity corridor, and promote sustainable livelihoods for the local communities.
Over the years, I have led the Communications strategy as well as the Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices and Socioeconomic surveys processes for the
NIMPA+ project; supported UNEP's GEO-7 writing process through the development and management of the digital collaboration platform; led the Scientific Research and Monitoring strategy of the
ResilienSEA project; and led the global communications for the
MAMI WATA project.
Before joining GRID-Arendal, I worked with the Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative (AGEDI) where I helped develop the organisational engagement strategy, and raise awareness of the brand, as well as its products and achievements. Under AGEDI’s Local National Regional Climate Change Program (LNRCCP), I managed three projects around understanding the impacts of Climate Change on the Water-Energy Nexus in the Arabian Peninsula.
I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management with the University of London’s (UoL) School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations (minor in African Studies) from the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi.
