Eutrophication in the Baltic Sea
The Baltic Sea is sick. It suffers from algal blooms, oxygen-depleted zones, loss of biodiversity and declining fish populations.
My background is in film and photography from the École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle in Paris. The knowledge I acquired there, as well as my work experiences in these fields, helped me developing my curiosity and open my eyes, to a point where I felt environmental matters are what are I would like to work on.
I am currently a geography bachelor student at Paris-Sorbonne Université in France, and I just spent a semester at the Stockholm University in Sweden. My main interests in environmental questions are related to climate change adaptation, with a focus on Africa.
As an intern at GRID-Arendal, I am working as a communications officer for the Ecosystems, Economies and Sustainable Development programme, and for the Mami Wata Project, which gives me the opportunity to get knowledge on specific issues, which will be useful to pursue with a master programme in environmental policy or climate change.
Apart from that, I enjoy taking analog photos, visiting exhibitions, cooking and spending time with my friends. I spend most of my spare time on a bicycle, whether commuting, racing, or bike traveling.
