Children placing handprint at Diaz Primary School, Mural

Diaz Primary School, Mural Pre-primary learners created a cheerful mural of animals that live in and around Lüderitz. Simple shapes and bold colours help young children recognise local marine life. This photo is part of the Waves of Change initiative, a community-based art and ocean literacy project along Namibia’s coast. The project uses creativity and storytelling to inspire young people, connect communities to the sea, and share their voices with decision-makers. Supported by local partners and the NIMPA+ project, Waves of Change empowers champions of ocean conservation through murals, workshops, and education activities.
