A main objective of GRID-Arendal is to provide environmental information to decision-makers and the public. This is achieved through on-line dissemination of data and information from our database, preparation of electronic state-of-the-environment reports, written reports, production of environmental maps and graphics organizing workshops and executing capacity building in environmental information management. 

We note with pride that 1996 was another very productive year for GRID-Arendal. Some of the highlights are mentioned in the report.
