The Board of Directors of GRID-Arendal focused considerable attention on the formulation of an operational strategy for the period up to year 2005, on strengthening the management capacities of the foundation, and on establishing a policy for sponsorships which would safeguard the institutional integrity as a non-profit foundation. The strategy sets forth how GRID-Arendal can provide environmental information, communications, and capacity building services for information management and assessment related to the UN system, particularly the United Nations Environment Programme.
