Mountains & SDGs

This brief highlights the importance of mountain regions for water-related issues and the need to integrate them into the sustainable development goals (SDGs), by proposing mountain-specific targets and indicators.
Mountains provide access to freshwater to half of the world’s population for drinking, domestic use, irrigation, industry and hydropower. This brief was part of an overall initiative of the Mountain Partnership to mainstream mountain-related issues into the SDG process.
