The new Managing Director, Karen Landmark, is originally from Kristiansand and resides in Arendal. She will succeed Peter Harris, who will leave his position on December 31, 2023.
Karen Landmark has more than 20 years of work experience from business, research, and development, as well as the organisational sector.
She has led international projects and established business ventures in India and Sri Lanka in the field of renewable energy. As a current member of the executive management team at the Norwegian energy company Greenstat, she has been involved in developing the organization from its inception, through scaling up and growth.
Karen Landmark serves as a board member in Hunton AS, the Biotechnology Council (Bioteknologirådet), the Technology Transfer Foundation (Stiftelsen teknologiformidling), Zoi Environment Network, Innoventus Sør, and several companies within the Greenstat group. Karen Landmark holds a Ph.D. in Business and Sustainability from the University of Agder and NTNU, as well as a master's degree in political communication from the University of Amsterdam (Universiteit van Amsterdam).
As the CEO of GRID-Arendal, Karen Landmark aims to utilize her knowledge and passion for nature and her extensive business experience to develop and implement innovative and sustainable strategies with a focus on promoting collaboration, securing financing, scaling up impactful projects and programs, and building a trust-based culture.

Karen Landmark will assume the position on February 1, 2024.
